Technical description.
KPV is a tripeptide (Lys-Pro-Val), the C-terminal fragment of the α-MSH hormone. Its distinctive trait: it inhibits the NF-κB inflammatory pathway —up to ~80% in models— without activating melanocortin receptors, so it produces no tanning and no effect on appetite. It has been investigated in models of colitis, dermatitis, and arthritis.
